Beginner modules are built for adults who want structure without feeling exposed. You work on pronunciation from the start, learn the grammar that unlocks simple sentences, and practise short exchanges you can actually reuse in travel, daily life or conversation.
Most adult group classes run as 20-hour modules, usually over ten weekly sessions. Each module has a defined objective, so learners know what they are consolidating before moving to the next stage instead of drifting through an endless general course.
The adult pathway follows a CEFR-inspired sequence from first contact with French towards stronger A2, B1 and B2 communication. The goal is practical progress: better listening, clearer pronunciation, more accurate grammar and enough confidence to speak beyond rehearsed phrases.
French Studio keeps the same progression across its locations, so the choice is mainly practical. East Coast works well for Katong, Marine Parade and eastern Singapore; Novena is convenient for central learners; selected online groups help when commuting makes attendance fragile.
Two centres, one progression
Adult learners can follow the same structured French progression at East Coast, Novena or in selected live online classes. Pick the centre and time slot that make weekly attendance realistic.
A lesson mixes guided speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar in context. Teachers do not leave learners alone with a textbook: they model pronunciation, correct mistakes, explain patterns and create controlled practice before asking for freer conversation.
Adult classes use course books as a backbone, not as a script. The teacher decides what the group needs each week: more pronunciation, a grammar detour, extra speaking time, revision before moving on, or a local example that makes the lesson easier to reuse outside class.
After-class continuity
Adult learners usually want to know what to revise after class. French Studio uses the Inspire pathway where appropriate, but the lesson is not a page-by-page race: teachers choose what helps the group speak, understand and remember.
The book series gives adults a stable reference for grammar, vocabulary and homework while keeping each module connected to the next one.

Complete beginners use the book as a home base for A1 foundations, with extra pronunciation, classroom speaking and correction added during lessons.

A group course is best when you want classmates, a fixed timetable and a steady learning habit. Private tuition is better for a difficult schedule, faster catch-up, exam goals, business French or a highly personal objective.
If you are not a total beginner, take the placement test or contact us with your background. We can help you avoid both problems: repeating material you already know, or joining a class that moves too quickly.
Adult learners need correct grammar, but they also need to recognise how French is spoken naturally in everyday situations, films, songs, articles and conversations with native speakers. Lessons bring conversation, culture and informal French into the classroom when the level is ready for it.
French Studio keeps group classes interactive so students speak from the beginning instead of waiting passively. Smaller groups give the teacher more time to correct pronunciation, notice gaps and keep everyone involved in pair work or class conversation.
